The Sheriff's Office is Chemung County's oldest law enforcement agency, dating back to 1836. The duties and responsibilities of the Office of the Sheriff continue to change as do the needs of the citizens that the office serves. The Chemung County Sheriff's Office is currently comprised of four separate divisions: Community Services/Civil, Corrections, Criminal Investigations and Police Services.
